I was told by my doctor that I had 1 and 2 but she didn't give any further information and I didn't know what to ask. That's why I don't know what type of virus I was infected with.

The tests offered at free clinics are not able to distinguish between Herpes A and B. Those who cannot afford the more expensive test thus do not know which type and can only guess based on where an outbreak occurs.
